With recent advances in the technologies of storage and network systems, it is now possible to support Video On Demand (VOD) system, a continuous media server. Actually, current popular web sites for VOD service support streaming services using various streaming protocols for transferring multimedia data. however, in spite of many efforts to improve the processing capability in client ana server sides, VOD servers can't support a very large number of clients due to the limited network bandwidths between ISPs and clients. In this paper, we propose a client-side cooperative caching framework to overcome the limits of current VOD service by exploiting group membership service and Peer-to-Peer technology. In the framework, clients search the required data from not only VOD server but also cache in another clients. We expect that the proposed management strategy substantially assist VOD servers to decrease the work load and support more clients.
