During recent years, metal matrix composites (MMCs) have been intensely examined and applied in industry. This interest can be explained by their enhanced (improved) characteristics and combination of properties that can't be attained either in metals or in alloys [1,2]. There are two basic processing methods for producing MMCs. These methods are based on casting technologies and on powder metallurgy. For many applications, special attention has been given to casting MMCs, for example, the Al-SiC MMC. However, the production of cast MMCs frequently encounters several problems. One of the major difficulties is the poor wettability (even unwettability) of the component materials.
