摘要

The wear property of composites is important to use the auto parts and engine. Al_(2)O_(3) and SiC particles have been used to reinforce the aluminum alloy which has lightweight and wear resistance. To increase the wear resistance of aluminum composite, high volume fraction of ceramics in aluminum composite is needed. The pressureless metal infiltration (PRIMEXTM) method is one of the useful methods to increase the volume fraction of ceramic in aluminum composite [1]. In this study, the microstructural behavior and wear properties of as-fabricated or aged SiCp reinforced aluminum composites which fabricated by a pressureless infiltration method and Al_(2)O_(3) reinforced aluminum composites which fabricated by a pressureless infiltration and thermit reaction have been investigated.
