摘要

Materials that are both strong and ductile are the dream of engineers. However, the reality is that a strong material tends to be not very ductile, while a ductile material tends to be not very strong. In situ composite is a very new family of composite. It has high tensile strength and high ductility. Because the reinforcing phase created by in situ reaction is about 0.5 μm, this phase is a very comfortable heterogeneous nucleation agent and can fine crystal of composite. In this work, we will study Al_(3)Ti/A356 composite. This in situ formation caused the reinforcement phase (Al_(3)Ti) to be fine and well bonded to the A356 matrix.
