Everyone in the world has watched with horror and amazement at the freefall of the United States' technology sector in the public markets. The last ten months has been nothing short of a massacre across the board for technology companies—not jU.S.t in Internet stocks, but also in telecommunications, infrastructure, semiconductors, hardware, and software. Generally acknowledged now as a bubble, the frothy, high-flying technology stocks of a year ago are now looked at with general disdain by the market, by the press, and by consumers.
