Liquid crystal materials have variable applications in electronic and photonics such as in displays and photo-conduting devices (1).In particular,discotic liquid crystals,which bear a flat,rigid core molecules as the mesogenic unit and are able to self-assembly into highly ordered columnar phases,have been investigated intensely during the last few years for potentail applications.
