In this paper we will: 1) overview the importance of feed management and it's relationship with whole farm nutrient management, 2) share a few examples of how feed management can reduce the import of nitrogen and phosphorus to the farm, and 3) describe an opportunity that is developing for consulting nutritionists to play a major role in the development of Feed Management Plans for livestock producers.
