Success of new crop varieties depends upon quick adoption. Often it is rather slow in marginal environments. Many times the improved varieties from the researcher fail due to the reason that farmers' perceptions change over time. Lines selected from such networked Participatory Varietal Selection (PVS) trials are likely to be broadly adapted, stress tolerant, and acceptable to farmers (Atlin et al., 2002).To determine the acceptability of and the preferences for the newly developed rice cultivars, aPVS was carried out.
