The paper presents results of the research focused on the possibility of restoration of the shape parts of molds working in high-pressure die casting of aluminium alloys by clad welding. Selected properties of weld clad made by MAG technology-metallography, hardness, and their corrosion properties were assessed. Using the dynamic resonance method, the bending stiffness of the prepared samples was measured before and after exposure to the electrolyte. Bending oscillations were generated in the samples and the bending stiffness values of the samples were calculated from the measured resonant frequencies. Subsequently, Young's modulus of elasticity of the original sample material and an effective elastic modulus for corroded samples were determined.
