All over the world, Freyssinet performs structural maintenance operations using impressed current cathodic protection methods for both new build and repair projects. The group has in-house personnel certified in accordance with BS EN 15257 or American NACE Institute Certifications. It has proven expertise in cathodic protection for Concrete, Land and Marine applications, as well as in-depth knowledge of the behaviour of the concrete material at the different stages of the project: materials diagnosis, studies and design, actual working methods and logistical methods adapted to port structures (consideration of the operating context of the structures and specific access conditions). Once the work is complete, Freyssinet is able to monitor the structures equipped with cathodic protection by means of controllers managed remotely by GSM or 4G, and draft reports on behalf of the contracting authority, thus offering a turnkey solution. The aim of this article is to give a concise technical description of impressed current cathodic protection in concrete and present a project recently completed by the Freyssinet group.
