The thermal regime as an important factor to the stability of the roadbed has always been playing a dominant role in roadbed engineering on permafrost. For this reason the temperature state is investigated for the Berrkakit-Tammot-Yakutsk railway in this paper. A typical section of a roadbed on permafrost is selected for numerical simulations to study the thermal regime formation, on which the performance of the roadbed is directly related. A computer program is worked out for the mentioned study and its innovative feature is that the construction processes including the cutting and filling work were both taken into account in computation. The real construction sequence is adopted as an input parameter in the numerical modeling for the mesh division and its subsequent correction. The computed results show realistic temperature distributions.
