To investigate the possible influence of ozone longitudinal inhomogeneities on the middle atmospheric dynamics the 3-D ozone data, produced by assimilation system developed at NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center, were used in the model simulation employing mechanistic global model of the middle atmosphere. The model includes a radiation scheme, which explicitly calculates the heating and cooling rates according to the emission and absorption of infrared and solar radiation at every grid point of the model. Numerical simulations were performed: with 3-D and zonal averaged ozone distribution for period December-March of winter 1991-1992. Difference in geopotential heights with the greatest value of 9 gpm between results of the model simulation with 3-D and with zonal averaged ozone distribution is observed at the end of March over the northern high latitudes in the upper stratosphere and exhibited similar to ozone distribution wave number 1 features. The greatest mean of the nonzonal part of the net ozone heating is about 1.6 K/day and observed nearly at 50 km height.
