Compounding with Regenerated Rubber Part 1:Presented to the Meeting of the Rubber Division of the American Chemical Society

摘要

Over the past few years a number of companies have developed,patented and marketed technologies that can regenreate scrap crumb rubber referred to in this paper as 'crumb'.The crumb regnerated was both from tire and non-tire sources.Regeneration can be carried out using both thermal or chemical processes.The regenerated crumb referred in this paper as RCR (or simply RR) can be milled and used alone or blended with virgin compound to obtain useful products.The best approach is to use regenerated crumb rubber in a virgin compound of a similar polymer type.However,useful properties can be obtained even if the polymer composition is not the same.
