ELECTROCHEMICAL NOISE ANALYSIS FOR CORROSIVITY ASSESSMENT

The fluctuations of corrosion potentials at single electrodes or the variations in current between two electrodes electrically coupled are increasingly accepted as a highly sensitive method for monitoring the corrosivity of environments. This paper will review the basic principles of electrochemical noise measurements and discuss some of the principles of signal analysis for interpreting the behavior of observed transients.
