摘要

The design of pyrometer purge air systems has been described as a "black art." The most critical aspect of developing the purge design is the imposed space restriction for installation onto a gas turbine aeroengine. This fitting of the purge system in accordance with the size specification can compromise the system's geometry and hence its effectiveness. This necessitates the need of a design strategy that would allow designers to both investigate and optimise the effectiveness and reliability of their purge air designs for specific installations. The application of CFD and the resulting design process developed is described in this paper.
