摘要

This paper presents investigation of water environment induced interface degradation of Kevlar 49/Epoxy matrix system. Single fiber pull-out test specimens immersed in hot water for various time were tested. In-situ observations of interfacial crack propagation were performed with CCD camera and measurements of acoustic emission (AE), together with conventional load/displacement records. Pulled-out fibers, fractured fibers and resin parts of specimens were observed with scanning electron microscopy (SEM).
