摘要

A series of simple tension and unloading-reloading test on a CFRP 1×7 stranded cable with a central core has been conducted under both rotation free and rotation fixed conditions. The electrical resistance of each strand and the core as well as AE signals have been monitored during the test. It was found that the correlation between the change of electrical resistance and the AE behavior was remarkable and that the cable used in the present study is in itself a smart structural element with health-monitoring capabilities.
