Rock dynamic researches have been conducted in association with the development of underground rock caverns in Singapore. The researches include the study of dynamic properties of rock material (strength, modulus, constitutive relations). This paper presents some of findings on dynamic strength, constitutive relations and failure criteria of rock material. The results obtained from the rock dynamic researches provide the necessary input to the design and modelling of cavern projects.
