Manufacturing Time Estimation Laws for Composite Materials

摘要

The objective of this paper is to outline the development of cost models for composite materials. Such models aid the realistic assessment of alternate design strategies for the reduction of cost and the development of design for manufacturing guidelines for industry. A key element of these models is the ability to easily modify results for new developments in process technology while providing designers with a tool to rank order design decisions. In particular the required size and complexity scaling laws are discussed.
