An optical frequency standard, based on the 2{sup left}S{sub}(1/2) - 2{sup left}D{sub}(5/2) transition in 674 nm in 88{sup left}Sr{sup}+, has been characterized and the frequency measured with a femtosecond laser comb. Progress on developing a standard based on 87{sup left}Sr{sup}+ will also be reported.
