Graphite is an attractive anode material for secondary lithium ion batteries due to its high capacity and relatively flat voltage profile.The intercalation mechanism of the lithium ion into graphite layers has been studied to improve the performance of lithium ion batteries.Lithium ions intercalate into graphite lattices during charge.
