摘要

Dynamic line rating (DLR) of overhead transmission lines refers to the process of varying line ampacity in real-time using data obtained from monitoring the temperature and ambient weather conditions around the conductor. DLR can relax the conservativeness of the traditional static line rating (SLR) which is usually calculated for "worst-case" ambient cooling conditions. By facilitating a more flexible operation of the transmission network,DLR can realize several system operational benefits including improved utilization of renewable energy sources and better contingency management [1].
