摘要

In order to improve long-term reliability of cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE) power cables, it is essential to understand the mechanisms of degradation and breakdown of XLPE solid insulation and interfacial phenomena. Previous research has performed investigation of partial discharge (PD) characteristics and insulation deterioration by electron spectroscopy for chemical analysis (ESCA). In this paper, we focus on the investigation of degradation mechanism of simulated XLPE/EPR interface by Fourier Transform Infrared (FT-IR) Spectroscopy Analysis in terms of elucidation of the degradation process of XLPE cable joint.
