An SOA-Based System Modeling Military Intelligence in a Training Environment

Training on how to better use military intelligence assets has been a key training objective for military commanders. The need of a more realistic representation of the processes that support the intelligence data flow within the operational battlespace is critical to transforming intelligence training. Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) architectures are never the same for every conflict. An adaptable and easy to reconfigured infrastructure is required to allow for the modeling of the ever-changing intelligence processing. Integration of new and old capabilities is key in evolving the intelligence training environment to address current and new concepts. Services providing different levels of fidelity and security levels need to be available when instantiating a training environment. A Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA)-based infrastructure has been developed by General Dynamics (GD) to support this dynamic military intelligence training environment.
