OPTIBODY: Electric Light Trucks and Vans with an Optimized Structure

Electric vehicles have changed the general purpose vehicle concept to a dedicated vehicle concept, and light trucks for urban goods delivery are an example of this. The OPTIBODY project has developed new modular structure architectures for electric light trucks and vans which will improve the vehicle's passive safety. This project has developed a structure composed of a chassis, a cabin that includes improved levels of comfort, protection and user ergonomics, and a number of add-ons that provide protection in case of impact or rollover, also covering the topic of crash compatibility, including a good interaction with vulnerable road users.
