Problems and solutions in ecological wire and cable

With the increase in ecological consciousness, the trend for regulation of halogen elements and heavy metals, which are suspected to cause environmental pollution, is growing. Hitachi Cable has energetically developing ecological wire and cables to meet social demands concerning environmental protection. Problems in ecological wire and cable are its handling and recycling of insulating materials. To solve the former problem, external injury resistivity and flexibility have been improved. For recycling the insulating materials of wire and cable, polyethylene, eco-material and PVC could be successfully separated from 3 kinds of mixtures by electrostatic separator.
