Intelligent Network (IN) architecture provides many benefits for both network operators and service subscribers, such as availability of switch independent services leading to rapidity and low cost service development, support of global roaming and customised services resulting in a user full satisfaction. However, in the IN structure when the new service control node called ASCP (Advanced Service Control Point) in our system is introduced, it leads to an increase in the SS7 traffic load over the network. In this paper, a new user mobility model is proposed and based on the model IN-related No.7 signalling load is calculated. The simulation results reveal that using the proposed mobility model, the IN-related No.7 signalling load can be simply and accurately estimated with a consideration of spot attraction and movement resistance.
