The benefits of steam turbine control systems upgrade

Steam power plants achieve an average service life of 40 years. There are many power plants still successfully operating with originally installed control systems. These aging control systems installed 20-30 years ago, are becoming obsolete now and are difficult to operate and maintain. In most cases it is difficult to quantify and justify expenses related to replacement of the entire control system. This paper will present the possibility of economically upgrading aging control systems and the advantages of an upgraded control system.
