The reduced blastfurnace titanium slag, made in Panzhihua Steel and Iron Corporation, contains a lot of minerals with low melting temperature, such as C_2AS, CS, CMS_2-CTS, etc. It can be used as the raw materials fully or partly replacing clay to produce cement clinker. These minerals in the reduced slag are benefit to accelerate the formation of clinker minerals by reducing the eutectic temperature. The sintering temperature of clinker is about 1350 deg C when the reduced titanium slag is added in the raw mixes. The cement strength may reach 525# level when as high as 20 percent of reduced high furnace titanium slag is used replacing clay. After water quenching, the reduced high furnace titanium slag contains mainly glass with dioptre and becomes potential activity. It is concluded that the water quenching reduced high furnace titanium slag can be used as cement mineral addition.
