Quality control with XRF

This is an introduction to the "Shop Guide" written by the AESF X-Ray Fluorescence Applications Committee. The guide is designed to provide a shop owner or manager with an understanding of the use of XRF in the plating shop. What is XRF? Why should it be in your shop? How x-ray thickness testers and solution analyzers work will all be covered. In addition, we will discuss standards, equipment, calibration and set-up, sample placement and the meaning of the readings.
