摘要

The results that have been represented in this paper are related to the development of Pre-Crash Safety System that is an application of Advanced Safety Vehicle (ASV) to enhance driving convenience and safety. Pre-Crash Safety System is an active safety system aimed to predict an avoidable collision by laser radar sensor (lidar) and actuate the motorized seat-belt in order to improve initial restraint performance and optimize position of passengers in advance of collision. Lidar is applied to achieve the clearance and relative velocity between forward vehicle and subject vehicle. In this study, stopping distance algorithm is used to determine the event of collision warning and collision warning algorithm is designed to incorporate the driving characteristics of the human drivers. The field operating test has been performed on the high-way and with the paper barrier to confirm the utility of the presented system.
