A returnless fuel supply system is now creating a noise in a vehicle, caused by fuel pressure pulsation. To reduce the fuel pressure pulsation, conventional pulsation damper is installed in a fuel-rail. However, it increases a system cost and numbers of component parts. A lot of evaluations were made to analyze the pulsation and noise with different type of fuel-rails in actual vehicles. As a result, the fuel-rail whose section shape is flattened was found to reduce the noise generated by the fuel pressure pulsation and, consequently a pulsation damper can be removed from a fuel supply system.
