Study on Drivers' Right Turn Behavior Based on Dynamic Image of AHS - Influence of Resolution of Image on Driver Behavior in the Presence of Visual Obstacle at an Intersection

In order to prevent collisions when drivers make right turn in an intersection, this study focuses on drivers' behaviors when using dynamic image of AHS (Advanced Cruise-Assist Highway Systems). Two experiments were conducted with a driving simulator. In the first experiment, driver right turn behavior was investigated when using no AHS, and two kinds of resolution of dynamic image were designed as an AHS service based on the driver behavior. In the second experiment drivers' behaviors were measured and evaluated based on the resolution of dynamic image information and the vehicle waiting in the opposing right turn lane.
