An Estimation of Effects of Active Safety Devices by Hayashi's Quantification Theory Analysis of Traffic Accident Data (Second Report) - Improvement and verification of method

摘要

The purpose of this study is to propose an estimation method of effects of active safety devices on traffic accidents, using traffic accident case study database and national traffic accident statistic database. In the first report, a discriminant method using Hayashi's 2nd quantification theory was proposed. Then a ratio of effective traffic accidents to total accidents was estimated for Lane Departure Prevention Support System. In this second report, the proposed method was improved by additional traffic accident data, and it was also verified for several active safety devices.
