Laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy (LIBS) was applied to simultaneous measurements of individual concentrations in an intermittent fuel spray of binary components. Methanol and hexane blend fuel was injected into a test cell and excited by a high power laser. The concentration of methanol and hexane was measured from the atomic emissions of oxygen and hydrogen respectively. The result of experiment showed that fraction of methanol and hexane in a fuel spray changes with time or position due to different vaporization rates and also depends on the atmospheric temperature, which can be explained by azeotrope phenomenon.
