The effect of the bending on the reversed plane-bending fatigue strength of two high tensile steels were experimentally investigated using the fluidic-device type fatigue testing machine. The results obtained can be summarized as follows:(l)Thefatigue cracks in the bent specimens always initiated at the inside of the bent location.(2)The fatigue strength of the bent specimens were always higher than that of the flat ones. Moreover, the smaller the radius of curvature became, the fatigue limitstended to rise. (3)In the basis of not yield strength but tensile strength.
