Management of water hyacinth Eichhornia crassipes (Mart) Solms with fungal pathogens

Fusarium equiseti and F. pallidoroseum are two effective biocontrol agents of water hyacinth (Eichhornia crassipes) with narrow host range and high intensity of infection. A spray fluid with 10 ml~(-1)of the spore was effective in management of the weed. The cell free metabolites of these pathogens were also effective in reducing the weed. Guinea grass powder and rice bran are two substrates suitable for mass production and storage of these fungi.
