Studies of heating system which uses both air conditioner and floor heating apparatus

It was proposed to use an air conditioner for heating a room of a house together with floor heating by solar heat so that the size of the solar system for floor heating can be small. In the present study the relation between the temperature of the floor and the amount of the necessary heat from the floor to the room of an experimental house was investigated. The temperature distributions in the room which was heated by an electric carpet, an air conditioner, or both of them were investigated. It was found that the variations of the temperatures of the air in the room with time as well as with the distance from the floor became small when the floor was heated.
