A sunlight-lamp, which is a kind of metal halide lamps, has very similar spectrum to that of the natural sunlight and therefore it is often used for the light source of a solar simulator. However, in a general way, it is difficult to control the light intensity of the sunlight-lamp by changing the input voltage. This study tries to control the light intensity of a sunlight-lamp by use of a liquid crystal film whose transparency can be easily changed by the AC voltage. This paper describes the properties of the components of the equipment made on an experimental basis and the experimental results of the light control.
