For design of a wideband phased array antenna (PAA), the size of antenna aperture limited by the highest operating frequency and the beam scan volume must be considered. If multilayered notch antenna is used at high frequency band, the thickness of dielectric layer should be thin for good performances. It causes many problems such as difficulty of alignment when the boards are bonded together and new design of adaptor to attach the board. In this paper, instead of multilayered notch antenna, the ridged tapered slot antenna (RTSA) is chosen as an element of wideband PAA since it has rigid body and can be easily manufactured by mechanical wire-cutting. In addition, because the RTSA is made of conductor, it doesn't need via-holes which are required to avoid the blind angles out of operation frequency band. Theses blind angles are come from the self resonance of dielectric material of notch antenna.
