Planar Antennas for GSM/Wi-Fi Dual-Mode Mobile Phone Application

Recently, planar antennas have been widely applied in mobile phones as internal antennas due to the attractive features of low profile and small size [1,2], such as the PIFAs (Planar Inverted-F Antennas) or patch antennas. Beside GSM system, there are many wireless applications integrated in portable mobile phone, such as Wi-Fi, bluetooth and GPS. In these cases, the antennas not only provide wide bandwidth to cover the operating bands, but also need to be integrated with other antennas with high isolation.
