Wavelength-selective coupler and add-drop multipelxer using long-period fiber gratings

In conclusion, we have demonstrated a simple and effective wavelength-selective fiber coupler based on the interaction of similar cladding modes in two fibers. The proposed coupler has low insertion loss, no back-reflection, and high channel isolation, and may prove useful as a low-cost add-drop component for WDM.
