Analysis of evolution of over-modulated supervisory data in a cascade of all-optical wavelength converters

We have derived an accurate model for sub-carrier modulation erasing in AOWCs, taking into account the cascade of components. We confirm that using an active electronic scheme is required to avoid severe crosstalk penalties, and should ensure, within a cascade, less than 20 dB of crosstalk.
