Low-noise high gain dispersion compensating broadband Raman amplifier

In conclusion, we have demonstrated a high gain dispersion compensation module incorporating broad band Raman amplification. Using an optimized configuration, the noise contribution due to DRS is minimized such as to introduce negligible receiver sensitivity penalty making the module applicable for transmission spans with multiple repeaters, however gain equalization has to be implemented to use the entire 70 nm bandwidth.
