Maximization of Truck Tire Endurance is of greater importance today than ever before,due to steadilyrising costs.This requires both good initial mileage,minimum tread separations and good retreadability.The two disiplines which may accomplish these requirements are Engineering/Design and Compounding.This paper covers the latter.Prime considerations in compound design are heat build-up,heat resistance,environmental resistance,chipping/chunking resistance,and rubber-brassed steel adhesion.
