A New Type of Correlator Combined the Acousto-Optic(AO) and Spread Spectrum Technology

As a new type of correlator, the AO correlator is finding its application in spread spectrum systems to improve the system processing gain. In this paper, an innovative architectural AO correlation system-hybrid angularly multiplexed AO correlation system was presented. The method to get much higher correlation porcessing gain and to detect the signal from noise effectively is discussed. The system mode in laboratory is realized.
