The desire to continually improve connector performance, particularly in the area of connector finishes, has driven the research and development of a unique PdCo high speed electroplating chemistry. A successful chemistry development does not stop in the laboratory, but is extended into the field. The chemistry must not only provide the desird deposit characteristics, it must do so in a "user friendly", cost effective manner over a significant period of time. This paper will discuss the successful high speed, reel to reel operation of this PdCo chemistry in a manufacturing environment. The discussion will include the operation, performance, process control and testing results.
