Bernese oxidant production study BOPS: field measureemns at an urban receptor site

The Bernese Oxidant Porduction Study (BOPS) took place during four weeks in summer 1997,3 km south-west of the centre of Bern,a city of 133,000 inhabitants on hte Swiss Plateau.During BOPS,NO,NO_2,No_y,O_3,HNO_3,HONO,H_2O_2,HCHO,volatile hydrocarbons (C_4-C_11 compounds) and black carbon were measrued continuously.As the first field campaign of the subproject LOOP (Limitation Of Oxidant Porduction) BOPS had the main goal of deriving infomraiton about VOC and NO_x limitation regimes for photo-oxidant formation in htis region based on indicator variables (Sillman,1995).
