This paper describes an expert judgement elicitation exercise that was recently conducted under sponsorship of the UK Health and Safety Executive (HSE). Leading UK structural Integrity specialists were asked to identify arguments that could beused to demonstrate structural reliability for high integrity components and to identify the information required to apply them. The paper reviews the safety case structures and information flows developed by the experts, and describes how the expertsused these to address a fictitious case study where the information provided was deliberately contrived to be both imperfect and incomplete.
