Use of Application Specific Standards and Directives of the European Community in Conjunction with the Upcoming Global Standard IEC 61508 for Product Certification

This is a survey of the different requirements resulting from EU-Directives, application standards and generic global standards. Typical appical application standards are burnet management systems and machinery standards. The standards are interpreted with regard to product and system certification in safety-related applications.
